SCHOLARSHIP REGULATION Y.Y. 09/10
IED Roma promotes 10 awards for studies applied for the registration and frequency of three-year courses for the academic year 2009/2010, through a merit selection, held from May 21 2009, date of publication of this Regulation, until July 15 2009.
1. Monetary Amounts and duration
Six scholarships covering full cost of registration and attendance of the first year (value 7.700 Euro, taxes included), renewable for the two subsequent years, conditioned to the overrun of all tests provided by the plan of study each year, with an average mark of 28 thirtieths. If the average mark is not achieved, the scholarship will not be renewed.
Four scholarships covering 50% of the costs of registration and attendance of the first year (value 3.850 Euro, taxes included),renewable for the two subsequent years, conditioned to the overrun of all tests provided by the plan of study each year, with an average mark of 28 thirtieths. If the average mark is not achieved, the scholarship will not be renewed.
Study grants are distributed in the four schools at IED System, as follows:
IED Visual Arts - 2 scholarships fully covered, 1 scholarship partially covered.
IED Modalab - 2 scholarships fully covered, 1 scholarship partially covered.
IED Design - 1 scholarship fully covered, 1 scholarship partially covered
IED Communication - 1 scholarship fully covered, 1 scholarship partially covered
2.Admission Prerequisite
It shall be admitted to the award scholarship selection, the young Italian who:
- Have not completed 26 year of age in the date of the application
- Are in possession of a diploma of five-years high school (or four, for graduates at the Liceo Artistico) or who will achieve the diploma during the current academic year 08-09.
It shall also be admitted European and non-European who:
- Have not completed 26 year of age in the date of the application
- Are in possession of the equivalent scholar requirements to those required for Italian citizens, and with an excellent knowledge of written and spoken language in which courses are offered (Italian-English). The possession of the latter requirement will be tested in case the submitted project is selected.
It shall not be admitted to the selection, those students who are already in possession of an IED diploma or in analogous schools, or are already attending a course at IED.
IED employees or IED collaborators are not admitted to the selection.
3. Deadlines, Conditions and General Terms of Participation
The applicant must send the project by electronic mail at uncreativoalgiorno@ied.edu, no later than 12:00 P.M. of July 15, 2009. The date and sending time of the email, will be faithful. The subject line of email, must specify the first name, surname and project title.
The projects will be published after preselection on the site http://uncreativoalgiorno.com.
To be published, projects must be delivered in the formats described in the Art.6, after completing the registration and participation form.
Incomplete projects, or not related to the provided themes, or devoid of elements outlined in the preceding paragraphs, or containing incorrect or illegible personal data, or mailed after 12:00 P.M. of July 15, 2009, will not be taken into account.
Compelling conditions - and about them, the participant ensures and responds automatically in the act of sending the project, are:
-that the participant is the sole creator and designer of the project, that it is original and not the result of infringement or plagiarism;
-that the project is not covered by any bond of ownership or use, or by copyright.
The Jury may, at its sole discretion, to exclude from the selection, the projects that are not in conformity to the conditions described in this article.
IED Roma disclaims any responsibility if any of the conditions not attributable to IED that affect the delivery of projects, such as the malfunctioning of the electronic devices.
Participants agree with the handling of their personal data, pursuant to Legislative Decree No 196, June 30 2003 and subsequent amendments and additions, subject in each case the right to exercise their rights under Art. 7 of the mentioned decree, as indicated in ex art. 13 D.Lgs 196/03 attached to the participation form.
The material sent by participants will not be returned and may be freely used by IED Rome, without arising any dispute or any compensation right and/or claims whatsoever against IED.
Projects published on uncreativoalgiorno.com could be subjected of comments, assessments and public votes, which will be requested only for statistical purposes.
4. Assessment, allocation and reporting to winners
The project evaluation will be conducted by a panel composed of teachers and non-teaching staff of IED Roma. The assessment will be done at the discretion of the jury, without any possibility to be contested. The authors of the best projects will be called to be interviewed at the main office of IED Roma.
The winners of the scholarships will be notified by phone from IED Roma. Within 3 days from the Notice, the winner must send by email a formal acceptance, to the address uncreativoalgiorno@ied.edu. In case of failure of the acceptance within such period, the grant will be intended as refused, and the jury will decide in its sole discretion, to award it to another candidate.
From the time of the formal acceptance, winner will have 10 days to formalize the registration in the first year of the course for which he was awarded with the scholarship.
5.Disputes
If any dispute arises in relation to this regulation, it will be referred to the decision of a single Arbitrator indicated by mutual agreement between the parties or, in case of disagreement, by the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Handcrafts in Rome. The Arbitration will be done and held in Rome without any rite. The Arbitrator will form its own determination according to equity and respect of the adversarial principle within a maximum period of 120 days (one hundred and twenty). The Parties undertake to give immediate and timely implement to arbitrator’s decision, from now on already recognized as the expression of their contract will.
6. Issues and criteria for projects submission.
The theme of the contest is: I AM THE FUTURE! Wherever you are, you are the future: the coming world is in your hands, like those of any young man who one day will be able to make their dreams come true.
What kind of life do you suggest for the future? Express your ideas about society, art, culture, individual, communication, future lifestyle, making use of the tools you do prefer.
To each IED area, it was assigned a subject. Participants should develop the related theme to the referred area of the three-year course for which they aspire to obtain a scholarship.
IED DESIGN
Three-year course: Product Design, Interior Design, Interior Design (in English), Scenography.
Brief:
Tell us with texts, drawings, images, the individual and collective spaces, physical or virtual, the means of transport or communications, furniture, objects or the persons that you image for your future.
IED VISUAL ARTS
Three-year course: Graphics, Digital & Virtual Design, Photography, Illustration and Animation, Video Design, Sound Design.
Brief:
Build your “manifesto” of the future. You’s up using any form, or tool of audio or visual communication, an online or offline media, images, photos, drawings, video and sound.
IED COMMUNICATION
Three-year course: Advertising, Marketing and Corporate Communication, Public Relations and Events.
Brief:
Which language will we talk tomorrow? How are we going to express? Communicate with sounds, signs, new scripts, new ideas and projects the language of the future. Every format of communication is admitted.
IED MODALAB
Three-year course: Fashion Design, Jewelry Design, Fashion Accessories and Shoe Design, Fashion Communication, Fashion Communication (English)
Brief:
Say it with a drawing, image, video, text (maximum 2000 characters) your “future style”. Use the format and the tools you prefer.
Projects presentation:
Mandatory
1. Birth form compiled online (registration form)
2. Project’s Title.
3. Your idea, in ten lines of text.
4. The project description in a document of up to 2000 characters.
5. At least one image, photo, scan or drawing in which you see your idea.
Digital images must be provided in 72dpi JPEG format,1000 pixels wide, not optimized for the Web
6. First name, surname and title of the project reported in the subject line of email

Video or audio file lasting 60 seconds maximum.
